Gordon Carlisle has been at the Portsmouth Button Factory since 1984, creating both commissioned and his own artworks. His commissioned works range from 200 square foot wall murals to illustrated book covers and logo design. His artwork includes anything from large-scale oil and acrylic paintings done on constructed wooden surfaces to collages of old magazine imagery.

In 1999, Gordon received a New Hampshire State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship for his work as a muralist.
