"Whether figurative or landscape, my work is a combination of direct observation, imagination and memory. Nature is my constant inspiration. I am attracted to its organic forms and textures. I love being out in the earth's elements, feeling the energy and cycles of life.

Curiosity is my driving force. I like to watch people, events, and life unfold. I like to investigate the unknown. My love for travel and new experiences has taken me to many interesting places to paint, which often surface in my narrative work." ~ Darlene Furbush Ouellett

Darlene Furbush Ouellett
These works are a combination of oil paintings on canvas with fabric sewn around the border, creating vertical wall hangings. This is an eight-part series, fashioned in the Chinese scroll style with both indigenous landscapes and fabrics. They were inspired by the artistic haying of undulating fields and New Hampshire's majestic mountains.
