About the Artist
As a self-taught metalsmith since 1994, Julie Schmidt has been creating her own line of organically-inspired wearable objects, servicing over 50 galleries nationwide. Her sense of the whimsical and primitive are juxtaposed intuitively in her pieces which are inspired by an awe of nature and its inhabitants, especially sea creatures as well as a reverence for tribal iconology.
